I. ARRIVAL OF THE DOCUMENT
Basic Asessment
Number of words, file format, DTP, others.
Advanced Asessment
Subject difficulty, original text written in a language other than
English/French, who is the target audience, which is the goal of
the message in the text.
II. ISSUING OF A QUOTATION
Details about turnaround time, file format for delivery and payment
terms.
III. QUOTATION ACCEPTANCE
Client notifies Translator by email and/or Purchase Order in order
to begin the work.
IV. TRANSLATION OF THE TEXT
Preparatory work
Checking of dictionaries, glossaries, translation memory, client’s
style guide
Translation
V. EDITING
Checking to verify that there are no grammar or style errors, and
that terminology use is consistent within the document.
VI. PROOFREADING
Checking to verify accuracy, completeness, consistency of terminology,
writing style and suitability of the document for the target audience.
VII. DELIVERY TO THE CLIENT
Translation is issued electronically to the client, who reviews
it. If there is any comment, these are documented and incorporated.
After this, the project has been concluded.
VIII. PAYMENT FOR THE SERVICE
The document has been sent to the client. Invoicing starts as already
agreed.
